For over 10 years, Jessica Mishali has been protecting the rights and defending the freedom of those who have been charged with a criminal offense, while bringing them a peace of mind and providing solutions individualized to their situation. Jessica is a real trial lawyer who achieves results with aggressive negotiation and effective litigation. She was awarded with a “Hat Trick” award in 2009 and 2013 by the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, for three Not Guilty Verdicts in a row. Jessica has extensive trial experience including numerous trials for the charges of Murder, Sexual Battery, Robbery with a Firearm, Burglary, Arson, Drug Possession, Sale of Drugs, Drug Trafficking, Theft and Fraud.
Jessica Mishali received her B.A. from Florida International University and her J.D. from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, graduating Cum laude and awarded at graduation by the American Bar Association. She served as a Research Editor on the Law Review and her Note on the Juvenile Death Penalty was the only student work published in that year’s Law Review. Jessica was also a Teaching Assistant for Civil Procedure and a Research Assistant for renowned Criminal Law Professor, Richard Klein. Jessica received CALI Book awards for the highest mark in her class in Criminal Law, Oral Advocacy, Constitutional Law and Labor Law. She also did extensive volunteer work for the Suffolk County American Civil Liberties Union.
Before realizing her dream of becoming an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County, Jessica worked for the Immigration Law Center in North Miami Beach, handling Immigration and Family cases. This experience is particularly relevant to her practice since Criminal charges are often closely connected to Immigration and Family issues. Jessica continues to assist clients with Immigration and Family cases. Additionally, Jessica was an Adjunct Professor at Touro College South in South Beach. She taught classes in Political Science and Introduction to Legal Concepts. Jessica exclusively represented indigent people charged with crimes for approximately 9 years before recently starting her own practice, The Law Offices of Jessica Mishali, P.A., with offices in Miami and Broward Counties.
Recently, Jessica Mishali received significant media attention when her aggressive defense of a young man being targeted by corrections officers led to her being falsely accused of having sex with an inmate and introducing contraband into a jail. The scandalous and false allegations were investigated to the fullest and absolutely no charges were ever filed. Jessica continues to represent the client; she did not abandon the case and she could not be intimidated into backing down. This firsthand experience separates Jessica from the common criminal defense attorney. She knows how it feels to be falsely accused, and believes in fighting until justice is reached. She stood up to the false accusations pointed towards herself and she can do the same for you. If you want an attorney who knows how it feels to be placed in handcuffs and who will not tolerate government corruption, then call Jessica Mishali at (954) 865-1910.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and giving back to the community through volunteer work. She studied abroad in both Israel and the Czech Republic. Jessica is fluent in Hebrew and speaks some French.
